Good news for Barrero? Good news for De La Cruz? Or just good news for the fans that the organization recognizes that if Farmer is ever the answer to the question, it's not for a Reds team located where they are on the win-curve.

And, apparently, they needed Farmer's doppelganger to fill the shortstop gig:

Strange machinations given that the Reds were seemingly so enamored of Farmer, his intangibles, and leadership skills.
I'm not yet familiar with Casey Legumina, but I'd imagine this is largely just a cost saving move. Kyle Farmer has 4.129 seasons of service time and made $3.155M in 2022. Kevin Newman has 4.046 seasons of service time and made $1.95M in 2022. So, I could see a $1-2M cost savings by going from Farmer to Newman.
Strange reason to make the trade. Hopefully, Legumina looks like something decent.

This is another indication that Bell's days are numbered as the Reds Manager. The Reds already fired the coaches. These are people that Bell picked. Farmer is only in Cincinnati because Bell brought him with him from the Dodgers. Bell was Farmer's biggest advocate. I read someplace that Phil Castellini was interviewing the prospective coaches. It is Bell's job to hire the coaches he wants to work with. Castellini is looking for a new manager although Bell will probably make it through the year because Castellini does not want to pay a salary for nothing.
bell has been a disaster. His clubs are never ready after spring training. Just look at the Reds record for April the past few years. The club also gives up in September. Look at the Reds record the past two years in September. This past year the player's main goal going into September was getting on the DL.
Just one more year and the Reds. can dump Votto's salary. That was Jocketty's blunder. He got fired from St. Louis for advocating a the same type of salary for Pujols. The contract with the Angels was a disaster. And the same for Votto. I really wish the Reds had not fired Kivinski.
Then there was Candlestick's blunder with the Moustakas signing. It is probably good that Phil Castellini is trying to clean up the mess these incompetents left behind.
Just look what Farmer got the Reds. A minor league pitcher who probably will never make it to the majors. Perhaps I am wrong there. Watch him be Bell's opening day starter.
The Reds need to fire some minor league managers also. I believe the Reds farm teams all were below .500 last uears. Many of them were racing to the bottom of the standings. I wonder if Bell hired them.

I'm sad to see Farmer go. He was my favorite player last year. I really believed in him since spring training in 2020. I was hoping to meet him face-to-face at Redsfest next week.

Only problem is Bell didn't hire any coaches the front office did People whine about Bell but they ignore the fact that 13 of the 28 players last year were either waiver claims or minor league free agents
