With a new look to this years team, thought I put a thread out there for thoughts on the team:
Starting pitching: Mahle and Green looked pretty darn good, Vlad held his own, Sanmartin--rookie. What happens when Castillo and Minor come off the IL?
Bullpen: Wow, what a difference a year makes--nice mix of vets and youth. What happens May 1st when the roster goes back to 26 players?
Offense: Reds 19 runs vs. Braves 15 runs--base running looked good. Approach at the plate looked pretty good. Who goes when Solano comes off IL?
Defense: Reds looked pretty good, Senzel with nice plays, cut down runners at the plate, 3rd base was a little suspect
Who looked good/bad in your eyes?

Greene looked good. Senzel's defense looked good, but when is Senzel going to hit? Didn't we draft him at 1.2 because of his offensive ability?
It's a damn shame that ownership decided to prioritize cost savings over improvement this offseason. This is a winnable division, but only if you actually try to win.

I thought the Reds looked good, very good. I don't think they missed Miley or Gray at all. Miley is on the IL in Chicago. The offense looked good. India needs to stop swinging for the fences. Senzel needs to hit, but it is still early. The fielding was exceptional except for the second game. in the third third inning. Albies hit a ball that should have ended the inning with a double play. Moustakas took a couple of steps then underhanded it to Farmer whose throw was late to first allowing the Braves to score their 7th run. If the throw had been earlier to second the run would not have scored. It was the difference in the ball game. In the third game the left field play was excellent. Winker could not have made the throws that Fraley and Aquino did. He also could not have gotten to either ball as quick. The Braves would have scored two more runs. castellanos is batting .200, Winker.154, and Suarez.083. The Reds are not missing them.

We took their opening day and split the series against the defending world champs. Not bad.
