for nothing.
Good time to be a Reds fan. Glad I got rid of cable tv so I do not have to watch this team.

This will sure be an interesting spring training. I really don't think the Reds will miss Gray or Miley. They have a lot of starting pitching. All of them could match Gray or Miley, both of whom I feel are worn out. They both got hit hard last September.
In the outfield there will be a battle for Center among two unknowns, Cerda and Cedrolo. Senzel of course could be in the mix, but the Reds might try to move him back to third. For the other outfield spots the Reds have a loyt to choose from. Shrock, Friedl

continued Naquin, Fraley (Some speed), and Akeyama. I think Aquino is a bust.
At third base it will be a battle between Lopez, Senzel, and Farmer. Part of that depedns on what Barrerro does.
I think this has the potential of being a good team.

Talk me off the ledge. To me this move proves that we do not try to compete. This ownership group has no plans of winning, ever. Winker was our best player by far and what we got in return were players that will never demand a big contract, we deleted one small contract from suarez that the rich liars pretend is a large contract. Good for them. We get bad players for one phenom left handed hitter, why? Money isnt a reason, sell the team if you cant compete.

Apparently there's more selling coming. I'm willing to listen to anyone who wants to try to talk me down here, but why in the f**k are we doing the total teardown and rebuild now instead of 5 years ago?

First of all, let me say I hate these moves. Makes me sick. I don’t think Uncle Bob liked the agreement they singed, and like a toddler he is throwing a tantrum at our expense. He wants to tear down the club so he can say that’s the only product he can afford to put on the field. Let’s say I’m wrong though and they think the guys are good that we are getting back. The only thing I can see is our prospects and young guys are all about the same age bracket, so maybe they think they will all be good at the same time and 2025 we can finally win. Doubtful but it’s all I can figure.

I think the owner got scared when Covid hit. He had made all those commitments to FA’s and saw a season shrunk to 60 games. He probably saw his net worth take a hit. I’m not defending him. I’m trying to understand his rationale.
At this point, he has given up the ghost. Time for him to put his estate in order and sell the Reds to someone who wants to compete.
