A train would be really nice for a season like this. Give each player and coach his own Pullman like railcard. Then instead of spending time waiting for a plan at the airport the players could go staight to the rooms with a bed for sleeping or relaxing. The longest trip the team will make is from Pittsburgh to Chicago. While other teams would be trying to sleep in an airliner seat the Reds could be sleeping in nice comfortable beds. No hotel costs and the team could also attach a bar/ restaurant car.

Take too long. But nice idea. I would love it as a player.
The Reds are scheduled to fly out of town in the morning on one day, and be playing a game that night against their opponents, in some instances.
A train would never get them there in time to present that kind of turn around.
Now, if we had the whole summer back, and they reduced the season to 60 games, and kept them somewhat local, I could see that being a very nice arrangement.
