There has been a lot of talk about opening the season without fans. Players are balking talking about how they are risking their lives if they play. (Real soldiers these boys) Regardless there is probably zero chance that there will be baseball in minor league cities. Minor league players will not be earning anything. The owners and teams also don't have TV contracts or sales or trademark merchandise. With no fans they won't be playing. No play, no pay. Could the Reds and other teams just field of team with what is in their farm system. The Reds have a number of good prospects with no major league experience hence they don't belong to the players union. Could the teams also claim breach of contract for the major league players , then let things sort themselves out next year? Sample c Stephenson ib Bell 2b Rodriguez ss Garcia 3b India of Siani, Fairchild, Sugilo
pitchers Lodolo, Santillan, Naughton,
Then fill in the rest with other minor leaguers.

As soon as our prospects reach the majors, they become union eligible/members, so I'm not sure I follow your line of thinking.

None of these guys have jobs right now and they won't for at least another year. The major leagues may open this year, but there will not be any minor league play. It hasn't even been discussed.

I don't think they want to get into that kind of can of worms at all right now. They don't need a mutiny
