And conditioning with the Babe: They were really trying to repackage that gut. Babe didn't look too happy at the end of that conditioning piece. haha

These videos are fantastic. Robinson is one of my all-time favorite players. Did a report on him in high school and ever since then, reading his story, and then learning more about him on my own, I have been a fan. Good stuff Lark. Thanks for the posts.

Thanks Lark for sharing these good stuff. Too bad we don't have a time machine to go watch all these guys play. I have always wondered how Satchel and Gibson and Cool Papa and others would have did in the majors had they been given the chance. In Satchels case had he been given a chance from age 20 not over age 40 If anyone likes reading baseball books pick up a copy of the Gibson book The power and the darkness. Good read. He was a troubled soul near the end of his life anyway.

He was a troubled soul near the end of his life anyway. You bet. People must be getting twitchy for baseball, because these historical clips just started popping up, so thought I'd share. I agree with you on Cool Papa Bell. I've always found speed more viscerally enjoyable than power, so I'd love to have a time machine to see Cool Papa play. Also, I've always been curious about Smokey Joe Wood. I would mind seeing old Smokey Joe pitch.
