Bruce seems a bit out of it since the demotion. Just needs to get his head screwed on straight I would guess. As for maloney he is not a power pitcher but he goes after hitters like one so if he is not hitting his spots that is what happens. He will be fine but the thing is he is a back end of the rotation starter and he will have a problem starting in cinci with our rotation. I could see him developing into a solid long relief man but I could also see him pitch well and get traded. In that case we want him to ptich well so we can get more in return.

I like McBeth when he was up here with the Reds and still like him. Nice to see him pitch well.

Someone help me out here, just how extreme are McBeth's flyball tendencies?
It looks like he gives up a lot of flyballs, which isn't ideal for GABP. That said, I do like him quite a bit, so I'm hoping he can step up and contribute at the MLB level.

James Avery getting another shot at AA this year after a up and down last year going tonight. Avery has solid stuff with a 92 mph fastball and splitter. He skipped Dayton going straight to High A 2 years ago and last year I think it showed he was not ready for AA. He had very good outings and very bad outings but I think this is a big year for him. I will update his start as I am listenign to the game.

So far the midwest league is not giving frazier anything to hit. In a little over2 games he has now walked 7 times ! This is a great sign that Frazier is not the type of hitter to force the issue. He is going to be a great hitter.

I think Frazier could have a home as the 2 hitter in the lineup, but he may have a little too much power for that spot, depending onhow his power translates from college to the pros.
2010 Lineup: 1. Stubbs, CF 2. Frazier, SS 3. Bruce, RF 4. Phillips, 2B 5. Dunn/Dorn, LF 6. Votto, 1B 7. EE/Francisco, 3B 8. Tatum

Fraizer goes deep tonight for dayton 1-2 2 RBI 2 runs 2 bb I say Frazier might last a month in Dayton before he is movedto Sarasota. Of course it depends on valiaka as well as heis at short right now. A move by one or the other might be in order. I could see Valaika moved to 2b but then again Turner is there.....lol web.minorleaguebaseball.com/milb/stats/stats.jsp?sid=milb&t=g_box&gid=2008_04_05_dayafx_swmafx_1Warning with 2more k's now with 5 in 3 games. A powerfull hitter but k's will kill him in the long run. Needs to cut them down.

Justin Reed went 2-5 with a run scored for Dayton tonight. I'm still intrigued by Reed, as I think he could develop the small ball skills to go with his speed needed to make him a good option at the top of the lineup.

Yep Reed is still very young as well. In fact I think right now Reed is the 2nd best prospect in dayton behind frazier and ahead of Carroll and Waring.

Another positive factor is that he was a multisport athlete in high school, so he didn't focus on baseball until he reached the pros. So, he may take a bit longer to develop, so early struggles aren't too discouraging.
