I'm never a fan of trying to make someone fit. I'd be surprised if he was even average defensively at SS. It's not impossible he moves, but should absolutely not be counted on. Does his athletic profile fit in CF? He still views himself as a shortstop and his coach at Florida things he can handle the position. I don't think this is a "square peg in a round hole" situation.

Be that as it may... The guy "athletic enough to play everywhere" very rarely ends up at SS.

I'm good with it. He was in my top 5. I would love to try him in CF.

Dinger again yesterday. Better chance at SS than CF. He’s not terribly fast. Ultimately ends up at 3rd, imo. He has the arm and enough power. He’s not mike Schmidt, but who is?
Singer 2, Mize 0 btw.

I always think that "not a shortstop" thing is silly. In my opinion the only criteria to be a shortstop is to be superior to the other options.
Peraza IS a shortstop, but doesn't hit well. Blandino is NOT a shortstop, but can hit well, I believe (he's sorta showed it, but that's debatable, as he's not really gotten a serious look yet). Senzel is NOT a shortstop, but I believe he can hit really well. India MAY be a shortstop, and I believe he'll hit well.
Being a better option than Peraza is a really low bar to climb, in my opinion. Peraza is an average, unremarkable big league shortstop. If India wants to play there and can put up positive overall value (even if that's below average defense partially offsetting a strong bat), fine. I think the same should apply to the others, too. Manny Machado hasn't been a good defensive shortstop, but he's also one of the most desirably all around shortstops in baseball. I think India and Senzel could be that, too, if the arbitrary 'not a shortstop' stuff can be ignored. Some teams are extremely flexible with their player's positions... Cubs (2B playing CF, C in LF, relief pitchers in OF, and so on), now the Phillies (played 2b every day of your career? well, today you're a shortstop!) especially. I hope that open minded view is something the next Reds manager, in 2019, brings to the team.
