I played only one season for the Reds where I played in 107 games. I hit 63 career homers with 49 of them being inside the park homers. I got the first hit in World Series history. That hit being a triple off Cy Young. Honus Wagner singled me in so I also scored the first run in World Series history. Who am I?

I think it's Fred Clarke. I just don't recall Clarke playing for the Reds.

Player in question played for Pittsburgh in 1903 in the first modern day World Series. Played 19 years in MLB. Led NL in both home runs and triples one year. nicknamed "Wee"

Great guess. However it in not correct. Player in question was one of most popular player of his era. Was named player manager of team at 27 years old. Known for his aggressive play and hitting power he displayed even though he stood 5'6 and weighed 134 pounds. Provided Pete Rose type leadership even though he was smallest player in league most years..... Kind of shocked that nobody has any idea of who had the first hit and who scored the first run in modern World Series (1903). Especially since he was a regular player one year for the Reds. He is generally credited in developing the hand signals now used between pitcher and catcher. He played for Reds in 1915.

One of the most underrated players in baseball history.
