The Cincinnati Reds Hall of Fame & Museum announced today the six former players appearing on the 2018 Reds Hall of Fame ballot.
Third baseman Aaron Boone (1997-2003), outfielder Adam Dunn (2001-08), pitcher John Franco (1984-89), pitcher Danny Graves (1997-2005), third baseman Scott Rolen (2009-12) and outfielder Reggie Sanders (1991-98) are the Modern Player candidates.
Fans can vote online at RedsMuseum.org through Sept. 30, with a limit of one vote per person/email address per day.
One Modern Player will be selected for induction as part of the Class of 2018.
Players must have played for the Reds for a minimum of three seasons and have been retired for three seasons. Players active in Major League Baseball within the last 13 years will be considered for the fan ballot. Players playing in Major League Baseball more than 13 years ago will be considered by the Veterans Committee. The committee also considers candidates amongst former Reds managers and executives.
Counting the 2016 Class, the Reds Hall of Fame includes 86 individuals; 79 players, 4 managers and 3 executives. The 79 players include 28 pitchers, 21 outfielders, 10 first basemen, 8 second basemen, 5 shortstops, 3 third basemen and 4 catchers. It is the most inclusive {largest} team HOF in the majors. The Reds Hall of Fame debuted in 1958 with the induction of Ernie Lombardi, Johnny Vander Meer, Paul Derringer, Bucky Walters and Frank McCormick. All were stars from the 1939-'40 championship teams.
