www.baseballamerica.com/minors/2017-midseason-top-100-prospects-july-7/#iu2J4v0EOK9xAxIF.974 Reds made the updated top 100, one of those we haven't officially signed yet. Somehow Blake Rutherford is #36, Mickey Moniak is #46, and Taylor Trammell is unranked despite outperforming both of them. 13. Nick Senzel 30. Hunter Greene 78. Tyler Mahle 82. Luis Castillo I have Trammell ahead of Mahle and Castillo in my personal rankings, but the other 4 are also in my top 5. Shed Long was my 6th and he also missed out.

I don't get why they are blowing Rutherford. 270avg 331obp 1hr 21rbis 9sbs unless my site has the wrong numbers up.

His arm isn't any stronger than Trammell's, Trammell is faster, has more present power and potentially more future power, walks more (also strikes out more) has a comparable average, and is younger than Rutherford. I put in a question to JJ Cooper on Twitter, I'd love to hear an explanation. However, they are mostly focused on the futures game, so we may not get anything until Monday or Tuesday.

#45 Luis Robert got 4 times what Greene will and that doesn't include the tax the White Sox paid on the overage. That should give you some idea of the effect the draft has on reducing salaries for premium draft eligible players.

Its why there needs to be a international draft. foreign players shouldn't get larger bonuses to play then native players.

Castillo is looking like more than a #82 prospect right now. Of course it's a small sample size, but he's got filthy stuff.
