Because it occurs to me we have a 25 year old in AAA who plays catcher and insists on having a .340 OBP pretty much everywhere he goes, with mediocre power, but more power than a guy named Hanigan. If he's actually a decent defensive catcher, isn't he kind of a big prospect?
p.s., baseball prospectus says he's an above average pitch framer.

I would rate him around where I'd put Barnhart. Very good backup catcher of a 60/40 split starting type, one that won't hurt you if you have to start him but won't be confused with a top 10 catcher either.
This though leads the question you trying to see if the Reds will go with a 3 catcher bench. Thats a bold strategy.

He's a 1Bman parading as a catcher and is not a legit prospect.
