While I was watching the Bengals game yesterday I got the idea that MLB could do the international thing so much better. Have all the teams open on the road with a two game series in large world cities out side the United States. you could easily find 15 cities London Paris Madrid Berlin might be too cold Tokyyo Seoul Sydney Melborne Capetown Rio de janiero Buenos Aires Santiago Mexico City Monterey And maybe La Paz in Bolivia (Then we could see really how far a baseball could travel and how a curve would never break. Twice as high as Denver.
They would probably draw capacity crowds and sell enough merchandise to pay for the trips. two capacity crowds in April Ever team could use those.

I'm down with La Paz. Let's make that happen!

The "AMERICAN past time" season opened up in socialist, communist, dictatorship, gay-bashing, female organ slashing, job-stealing, 3rd world scum-hole country. Maybe it can be sponsored by FACEBOOK?!
What a great idea!
Anyone who backs this idea is an idiot. You know where I stand.

Interesting idea, Flash! One thing I would change though is that the Reds open at home in Cincinnati - the way it should be.

It sounds like fun, but if you really wanted the best bang for the buck, you'd go more for countries that are really into baseball.
So I'd put on your list:
Santo Domingo, DR San Juan, Puerto Rico Caracas, Venezuela Havana, Cuba Taipei, ROC Bogota, Columbia Beijing, PRC
And maybe Rome, Italy Williamsted, Curacoa Amsterdam, Netherlands
Oh, and Kramer, this is not be taken as an endorsement of the despotic regimes in some of the countries (like the Netherlands).

The La Paz thing was a joke. But you could switch cities year by year. There are a lot of large cities in the world. How is the weather in Amsterdam in April? I thought about Moscow also, but I bet there is still snow on the ground in April.

MLB already does this to an extent (in 2014 LAD and ARI opened in Australia).
MLB has previously opened seasons in Monterrey, Mexico (1999); Tokyo, Japan (2000, 2004, 2008, 2012); and San Juan, Puerto Rico (2001).
Not sure how it really does anything for the expansion of baseball worldwide. It's a money making gimmick. Players do enough traveling as is - nfl you get nearly 2 weeks off before your next game.
