The Reds draw a tough assignment tonight, facing off against top prospect Jacob McGee.
He struck out 2 of 3 in the first inning. Oddly enough, Danny Dorn is playing 1st base.

Throwing error by Jose Castro gives the Biscuits a 1-0.

McGee just ate up Danny Dorn on 3 pitches. Two curveballs and then blew a fastball right by him for the strikeout.
McGee is a tough southpaw.

Daryl Thompson is going to be a stud. The "Trade" will finally look good to the reactionaries out there when we trade him for a decent catching prospect or other player of need. I would love to hang on to him, but it is starting to look like the last thing we need is another promising right-handed starting pitching prospect.

Well, he certainly had a nice outing, that's for sure. Also, good work from Danny Herrera (came over in the Edinson deal) and Josh Roenicke. Nice win for the Lookouts against a very tough starting pitcher.

Very impressive work by thompson, and I especially like the 1.6 GB/FB he had in his first start. While if he can get a lot back in return in a trade then I wouldn't be against it, but I think if Cueto and one of Bailey/Volquez can show to be legit, then I think I would rather keep him and trade a proven Arroyo who is getting expensive, and could bring back a very good prospect in return.
Good to see Roenicke with a save in game one.
