Who is he? Why isn't he a prospect? Could he help the bullpen. He has a pretty good minor league record and he misses bats quite a bit.

Org filler who turns 26 years old next month, he's played 2 or 3 years older than his competition to date. Born and raised in a state that is not known for producing major leaguers (South Dakota) because they don't face top competition when growing up. Could potentially be a very late bloomer, relievers are very volatile.

Probably still more suspect than prospect, but yeah if he keeps pitching like he is currently he could very well help the Reds in the future

He had 3 k's in two innings pitched last night. Allowed just one hit. As far as his record he doesn't look like a late bloomer. He has had a pretty good minor league career. More K's than innings pitched ERA has been below 2 everywhere, but Bakersfield. WHIP around 1 or less. Looks like he must have a fastball, and he definitely has good control. I really don't understand this age thing. Gary Nolan was pitching in the majors when he was 18. He struck out 15 Giants one night including Mays 4 times. I know he had arm problems later because of it, but he did know how to pitch at a young age.

He was a mediocre starter for 4 years in college, he's only been "productive" since becoming a reliever - that equates to late bloomer IMHO. We really don't know how good he is because he's facing guys who are much much younger than him, that's a big deal - since those guys are definitely still developing. The age thing is very important.

He was injured two full seasons at SDSU but anyone who saw his start in 2013 at #8 Oregon (cg loss only 3/4 hits allowed 10-12 k's in NCAA's and his work in Summit League season as a starter was impressed.
Treinen for Washington bullpen power arm and Caleb Thielbar (Twins bullpen last two years) are two arms also from South Dakota State in Brookings.

Well, he is at Louisville now. Pitched 4 innings of shutout ball.

Now he is in Cincinnati. Must be because he is older than everyone.
