The bats are gettin gmowed down. With Bruce, Rosales, Green, and Cabrera I thought their offense would be pretty fierce, but today they are getting owned.
Majewski getting lit up in a AAA game. With Lincon and Mercker impressing early, and with Bray ahead of him on the callup order, looks like he may be done.

majewski is done IMO.....as for the bats bats...LOL Well you don't always hit but they will be fine.
I am really impressed with Homer's first start of the year. he could have struggled due to not wanting to go to AAA but he jumped right in and pithced well and went 7 innings. So he did not throw a ton of pitches thats a great thing. The strikout's will start adding up once his control gets better. Only walking 1 was great though.

I told you the Reds were high on Smith ! he gets the opening day start in High A. His stats were not all that greay just solid last year but he has great stuff. This could be a breakout year for Jordan

I'll be interested to see the box scores and how many pitches he threw. My rough guess would be high 90's, low 100's. Walks, pitch count, offspeed. That should be all that is on his mind. They should make a rule for him in AAA right now that he can throw a max 40-50% fastballs, and the rest has to be slider/changeup/curveball.

I here bailey is working on a slider....if he gets that pitch down and gets control of all hsi pitches the sky is the limit.

I here bailey is working on a slider....if he gets that pitch down and gets control of all hsi pitches the sky is the limit. I saw him throw it a couple times in one of his ST starts that were on FSN, and I think it has promise. With his delivery and arm slot, I think it could be far more effective than his curveball. Fastball/Slider/Change should be his arsenal, and then 3-6 curveballs a game as a show me pitch.

I wonder why he was pulled after 7 innings if he had only thrown 83 pitches? I would think they would want him to go as long into games as possible, andhe clearly could have gone one more. Unless he didn't feel right and then it would be the right call to take him outl
Thats one thing pitchers need to do, is be self aware enough to know when they need to come out. Its a fine line though, because no one wants their pitcher to be a nancy out there.
