'Jihadi John' in 'P' Hat Sickens Pirates Associated Press, 2/27/2015
BRADENTON, Fla. -- The Pittsburgh Pirates say it's "absolutely sickening" to see a photo of the Islamic State militant known as "Jihadi John" wearing a Pirates hat.
Sky News published a photo Friday of Mohammed Emwazi, whom officials say is the masked frontman for IS hostage beheading videos. The photo, taken from University of Westminster student records, shows Emwazi wearing a hat with the Pirates' distinctive "P" logo. The AP has been unable to verify the photo.
The Pirates said in a statement that it was sickening to everyone in the organization "to see this murderer wearing a Pirates cap in this old photo." The team says the gold "P" stands for Pittsburgh and is worn by players, coaches and fans with pride.
Emwazi was born in Kuwait, raised and educated in Britain and is a computer science graduate.

This would have to rank near the top in brand highjacking/carcinogenic advertising...

Pirates scandal! Perhaps watching years of them losing drove him to extremism...

Sad Stat of the Day:
The Pirates have more playoff wins(3) in the last two years than the Reds have(2) in the last 19 years.

Sad Stat of the Day: The Pirates have more playoff wins(3) in the last two years than the Reds have(2) in the last 19 years. We have a great tradition with the Pirates, much more interesting than this artificial rivalry with the Indians...

Sad Stat of the Day: The Pirates have more playoff wins(3) in the last two years than the Reds have(2) in the last 19 years. I'd wager the Reds have a lot more regular season wins in that time span... additionally news about Mohammed Emwazi suggests that he left the US before the Pirates became competitive. Maybe the Pirates winning some playoffs games was as big a shock to him as it was to everyone else. Turned the world upside down. Maybe he just responded differently, rather than celebrating he wanted to go kill people.
