Anybody have there predictions? Will they just call up guys already on 40 man, or will we see some moves? Everyone who is on the 40 man roster who is sitting in AAA (and healthy); Axelrod, Holmberg, Partch, Barnhart, Elmore, Soto, and Lutz. And then possibly Corcino and YRod from AA - to give them a taste entering their final option year. They have an open 40 man spot - so they could technically claim someone on waivers or purchase someone. The wildcard call-up would be Iglesias - they are paying him a lot of money.

I hope corcino gets a shot, and I wish lutz would be up now and get some more playing time. I think with everyday at bats he would go on a tear. but I could be wrong

I have a feeling Lutz is never going to suceed in the majors, but I'd still play him in September - he's burning his final option. They need to see what they have with Corcino, give him a few innings out of the pen in September. It may give him an extra boost to buckle down this winter.

John Fay @johnfayman ยท 12h Think #Reds need to consider bringing up Corcino, just to protect themselves. 4 relievers have pitched 3 straight days.

You know, upon further consideration (and in my Reds-related boredom reading Doug Gray's RedsMinorLeagues.com) I hope Yorman Rodriguez gets a September callup from AA, and an extended look in LF. I guess he hasn't directly pushed for it, but in addition to raving about Yorman's raw talent he's helped me to realize how he's done lately.
Why on earth would somebody want to see Yorman Rodriguez, I would've asked a month, perhaps even a week ago? After a crummy first half (.224 average, .264 OBP, .306 sluggling, 2 homeruns in 196 ABs) he's really rebounded. In the second half he's hit .283 with a .364 OBP and .429 sluggling and 6 homeruns in 219 ABs. His doubles, homeruns, and walks have all been twice as high in the second half.
Even if he doesn't get a September call-up I change my prediction to Yorman Rodriguez starting next season in Louisville. Hopefully he can go to the Arizona Fall League (again) and keep up his second half success, before coming to camp next spring to make a (positive) impression.
I maintain my disapproval of seeing Donald Lutz in LF, but they might as well give toolsy 22 year old 40 man roster member Yorman Rodriguez some time in LF. Yorman Rodriguez might not even be an immediate upgrade over Ryan Ludwick, but at least Yorman can be portrayed aspart of the team's future... rather than a has-been or never-will-be.

Daniel Corcino ended up getting his September call-up a little early, on Friday, to pitch out of the Reds' bullpen. I look forward to seeing him. And if he can do something other than walk guys.

I would like to see Kyle Waldrop in the AFL this year. Although he is not on the prospect list he has been the best hitter in the farm system this year. I'd like to see him in September since it looks like he can hit, but that probably won't happen.

Corcino made his one and only appearance for the Bats Sunday night and my god did he ever suck. Was like a replay of his sorry AAA performances of 2013. It took him 94 pitches to get through 5 innings and he gave up three homers, none of them cheapies(in fact one bounced all the way out of LSF on one hop). To make matters even worse was who he allowed the homers to. Chase D'Arnaud, his 2nd of the season and a .250 hitter, the opposing pitcher AJ Morris and it was his first career homer as a professional, and Robert Andino who is a .215 hitter this season. So three pathetic hitters and none of them was a wall scraper.
