I don't if anyone has noticed this or not
Simon is leading the league in wins, is 10th WHIP
Of course Cueto is 2nd ERA K's, Shutouts, 1st in innings, and avg.
Can you see the Reds having 2 all star game participants and no position players.

Im thinking we get our given 1 all star in Cueto. Possibly Frazier or Chapman with fan votes.

Send Ramon Santiago and call it a day. I rather the Reds valuable players get three days off instead

Frazier has a very good shot at being an All-Star this season. He's the only offensive player I can see getting the nod. I doubt BP goes this year.
I doubt Simon will make it. Cueto is close to a lock. Chapman may have a shot if he continues to pitch well; missing the first month hurts his chances though, obviously.
I'll go with Cueto, Frazier, and Chapman.

Alfredo Simon Peripheral Stats: BB/9: 2.3 K/9: 5.45 BABIP: .238 LOB%: 83.8%
He's given up far fewer hits than can reasonably be expected. And, he's stranded more runners than can reasonably be expected.
Maybe we should hold off on building the monument in his honor. Regression is coming.

I think Devin Mesoraco deserves consideration for the All Star game, although he wouldn't make it by the fan vote. Despite being injured for so long he's second (to Lucroy) in WAR amongst NL catchers. He's also second to Lucroy in average. And second to Gattis in homeruns. And tied for 4th in RBIs (27, Miguel Montero has 35). Yadier Molina and Buster Posey are likely to make the team because they are, well, Yadier Molina and Buster Posey, but Lucroy and Mesoraco are the two guys who look like they deserve it.
Todd Frazier is leading NL thirdbasemen in WAR, at 2.4. And homeruns, with 13. And stolen bases, with a whopping 5. Frazier is also unlikely to be voted in by the fans, but seems like a very deserving candidate. If he isn't selected for the team it's a big snub. Unlike Mesoraco he's not in the shadow of big name guys (at least ones having respectable seasons) or being drastically outperformed by somebody. Headley, Aramis Ramirez, David Wright, Pablo Sandoval, Alvarez, and Prado are having unremarkable seasons, despite looking like more likely candidates than Frazier on opening day. Arenado is hurt. It seems like NL thirdbase candidates consist of Frazier, Matt Carpenter, Anthony Rendon, and some guys playing at a lower caliber.
I like the idea of building a monument of building a monument to Alfredo Simon with the intention of tearing it down later. Build it out of materials that can be conveniently reused to form a similar monument for the next star of the moment.

Building a monument of building the monument is a post-structural concept: fortunately, the board does have some Votto-related expertise in this area...
