Is it possible that the reason things are so quiet on the manager job is that Jockety is considering him, but can't talk to him until the Dodgers are through.

Interesting theory. Not sure how you got the spelling of his name so wrong though.

I was in a herry and I couldn't remeber how it was spelled. I knew there were differnet ways.
Anyway, I know he is familiar with Jock, and the big man from his time in St.Louis.

McGwire can use andros to beef up the hitting.

Could get Jay Bruce to win the home run derby every year.

If they wanted to consider Mark McGwire I doubt it'd be for a job other than hitting coach. Possible managerial candidate Jose Oquindo (who was a candidate for the Cardinals' job that Matheny ultimately got) is also tied up with postseason play, if they wanted to conduct a search of outside candidates with ties to Walt Jocketty.
I think the main reason the Reds are so quiet is that they want to wait and make an announcement after the World Series ends, much like the Cubs, Nationals, and Mariners. Even if they do choose to promote Bryan Price there's probably no incentive to make the announcement immediately.
