Louisville actually won a game?
Nah seriously, looks like it would have been an awesome game to be at.

Last game I went to it was 106 degrees and the Bats got 3 hits. Two of them were infield singles too. As I left that night I figured that might be the last one I bothered attending for a while.

With HRod and The General there, maybe Soto hits a little better with legit bats around him and Puckett has been solid in AAA. The Bats might be on the start of an upward swing into next season when they should be loaded. This time next year this could be the bats roster: 1. Billy Hamilton, CF 2. Ryan Lamarre, RF 3. Henry Rodriguez, 3B 4. Neftali Soto, 1B 5. Bryson Smith, LF 6. Mariekson Gregorious, SS 7. Cody Puckett, 2B 8. Josh Fellhauer, LF 9. Tucker Barnhart, C BN: Corky Miller, C BN: Chris Valaika, Util BN: Paul Janish, Util BN: Denis Phipps, OF BN: Felix Perez, OF 1. Dan Corcino 2. Tony Cingrani 3. Kyle Lotzkar 4. Pedro Vilalreal 5. JC Sulburan LR: Mark Serrano MR: Wilken De La Rosa MR: Wirfin Obispo MR: Tim Crabbe MR: Chris Manno SU: Curtis Partch CL: Drew Hayes

Louisville actually had an 8-game winning streak not too many weeks ago. Also, it's interesting to see that Felix Pie keeps moving around.

I would rather see Rodriguez on the Reds next year and someone else besides Stubbs in center. Did anyone check out Phipps line. Hope he has gotten whatever was wrong with him worked out. Perez has also shown promise although he seems awful hot and cold.

Obviously you can't read too much into a single game, but I can verify from a first hand perspective that Phipps(who has just looked awful all season) and Soto(who has been consistently mediocre all year) both looked like different guys last night. Maybe the influx of talent will have carryover on them. Maybe.

The most interesting thing about that box score was the only non pitcher to not get a hit was the great Willie Harris.

Bats win tonight on a walkoff grand slam by Dioner Navarro. Xavier Paul with a 3 run bomb in that game too. For a team that has been so bad offensively this year, they've had a couple of good days.
