I'm a democrat but haven't voted with much enthusiasm in the last few elections. There's been little discussion of education to this point. It's an important test issue because it's an issue on which it's common to talk big and walk cheap. I don't mean this as a slight to anyone in the discussion: it seems to me that nationally there is more concern about the price of gas than the problem of recruiting talented teachers to our public schools.
When I hear some discussion of how to reform a system that--here in rural Pennsylvania, at any rate--is in disarray, I'll have a clearer idea of how I'll vote. Otherwise, I'll just vote blue and try to keep the current policy garbage from leaking into my classroom...

It looks like Obama is one step closer to winning the nomination. 217 regular delegates left and 270 super delegates left and Obama only needs something like 185 of those to win the nomination. I'll stat breaking down policy stuff once it is ensured and then i'll have to start deciding between Obama and McCain.
I will say that unlike in the past few elections, I actually like both candidates. At least so far.

Starting to hear that Obama could wrap up the democratic nomination if things fall right for him on Tuesday. I wonder if Hillrod would contnue to fight even after he has more than the required delegates to guarantee the nomination? I think she would, mostly because I don't think very much of her or her character.

Despite the fact that she cannot at this point have a majority of the publicly voted Delegates Hillrod is still saying she is the candidate that the people want and need and that all the remaining super delegates should ignore that. Obama is about 60 or so delegates away from guaranteeing the nomination so hopefully he can wrap it up and she can go away.

Thank god Hillary won't be President. I'm fine with either Obama or McCain, albeit I don't know which wasy I am voting yet. Now they just have to make sure she isn't his VP nom and i'll be doubly happy.
