Don't count out Edwin.

He's got 6 errors on the season. He's a problem and we need to figure out what to do with him. Obviously, he's got some timely hits that loom VERY large early this season, but I'm not sure this team can go anywhere with him at third base.
It's time for a position change or a trade.

Dude, Edwin should be perceived neutrally if not negatively following today's game...without his hapless defensive play those HR's wouldn't've been necessary. So you can't say that he did anything impressive other than counteract the effects of his mistakes, which is what he did in the Haren game, too...

I don't have all the answers by any means, but I'm not taking him out of the lineup, especially given what he did for the team the 2nd half of last year.

I personaly wanna stick with him at 3B
he has the glove
just needs to work on the arm and also his nerves
todays was just not focusing
at 25 I refuse to belive his arm and focus cant improve.
Pokey Reese had 4 errors in one game. He turned out pretty solid with the glove.

I could be mistaken, but I'm fairly certain that Burton's wild pitch is the reason the first run scored in the 10th. He also hit one of the home runs early, which got us to extras. Without EE's first HR we don't have a chance to win the game in extras.

I dont' want to keep the guy around if he needs a kick in the butt every single spring. However, keep fighting the good fight, brother.

Ont the wild pitch, yes, it was Burton's fault that the run scored, but there was an out to be had there, and Edwin bobbled the ball, and let the man on second reach third.

Burton also walked a sub-.200 hitter to lead off the inning. At any rate, first off without EE we don't get to extras. The game's over in the ninth. Second, Edwin cost one run technically, he gave us two. His defense needs work and I'd never say otherwise, but the way people criticize him seems a bit excessive with what he does offer.

I guess you have to weigh one against the other. If you're willing to take the home runs (which is the most prominent of the offense he presents) at the expense of the glove (which he does NOT have, and apparently never will, if he doesn't by now) and the accuracy of his arm (which is equally bad) then you have yourself an above average hitter. To me, though, it's just not worth it to take that occasional homer/decent average when the hot corner is left unstable, to say the least.

I don't hate EE, but he has been very, very, very bi-polar this year. At one point he's winning games with walkoffs, then he's losing them by either having his 6 errors and his 0-5 with bases loaded. He's certainly a up and down player for us right now.

My feelings about EE this year can be summed up this way.
Remember that girlfriend you had in high school. She was awful for you, treated you poorly, maybe cheated on you and you just wanted to dump her and walk away.
Then you thought about the things she, uh, did VERY well..and that made you decide that you could put up with her for just another day.

Put EE in LF next year if they let both Jr and Dunn go.

Edwin in left field would have everyone cringin every time the ball is hit out there with a runner on 3rd tryin to tag or a runner on 2nd tryin to score off a single.
He has a very bad arm. If ya move him it has to be 1B but personaly I say let him have 3B.
Have our infield coach work on his arm and hope he learns how to focus more. Otherwise just deal him because he is a CINF one way or anouther.
