Well, I've been gone for a bit but I see we still have the 2007 Todd Coffee in the bullpen. I'm done with seeing his straight as an arrow fastballs and interested to see what the rest of you think.

I'll take Marcus McBeth. I want to see Bray prove that he can be healthy and productive at the same time. Until he does, I wouldn't mind giving McBeth another cup of coffee.

I chose Bray, a 3rd lefty would be nice since we only have two lefty relievers out of 7 and 5 righty starters right now
Harang - RHP Cueto - RHP Volquez - RHP Arroyo - RHP Fogg - RHP
Mercker - LHP Affeldt - LHP Coffey - RHP (Bray - LHP) Lincon - RHP Weathers - RHP Burton - RHP Cordero - RHP

I think the Reds become a less interesting team, psychologically, without Todd Coffey. Who else brings the same entourage of personal demons to the mound in every outing? Who else so consistently sacrifices physical talent in the battle with mental limitation and emotional fragility?
I'm not saying I like seeing him in games that we have a chance to win. But I like to believe he could overcome the forces that seem to plague him...
Perhaps next time...

I, too, find myself rooting hard for Coffey. He should be better than he is, but he struggles with something. Maybe he will get it done at some point. I'll certainly continue to root for him.

I'd been away from the espn board for a long time and noticed that only a few people who were familiar to me were posting there. It took me a little while, as usual, to figure out what was going on. This is a great site!
As an avatar, I even managed to fire up my candidate, among historical figures, for the general manager's job. It's a portrait from before his prime, when we could have hired him cheap, the Redlegs way...

So, I have no idea who is pictured in your avatar and won't hazard a guess.

Yeah, thats the part I haven't figured out yet?
Coffey is the only guy who has really been bad out of the pen so far this year.

That's the tough part because Lincoln and Affeldt have actually looked pretty good so far. Weathers, not so much.

I said Bray. Bailey could fit nicely, too, but now that Fogg has shown his true colors once again, I'm counting down the days until Home-dawg takes over.

Bray did a fine job last year. Hopefully he can repeat this year, but anything is better than Coffey (which is unfortunate, I really thought he'd turned the corner with his spring training work).
