Josh Fogg vs Carlos Zambrano. I'm seeing a bit of a mismatch here. This would be my lineup today in an effort to shake things up and wake the bats up: 1. Hopper, CF 2. Dunn, LF 3. Phillips, 2B 4. Griffey, RF 5. Keppinger, SS 6. Bako, C 7. EE, 3B 8. Votto, 1B 9. Fogg, P - Hopper is hitting well in his limited appearances, and CPatt is now hitting .239 with a sub .300 OBP (not what you want form a leadoff hitter).
- Dunn only has 6 hits on the year, but he has 16 walks and a .407 OBP.
- Phillips is hitting just under .300 and has been slightly more pitch selective, and should be the natural 3 hitter at this point.
- Griffey has been playing fairly well too, and I think he can be more of a run producer with the high OBP guys in front of him.
- Kepp I have at 5th because of the amount of contact he gets, and his great situational hitting.
- Bako leads the team in avg and is suprising me with how good his D and game calling has been.
- EE hits 7th to break up the lefties and Votto 8th because while he is hitting .300 or so, he has 0 walks so far as opposed to 5 K's.

whats up with all the night games at Wrigley? i was looking forward to listening to the game at work today. reds need to snap out of it, but unfortunately, fogg is on the mound tonight and isnt much of a game changer.

Tomorrows game is a 2:05 start and Volquez should be starting, so that will be good to listen to.
What I don't get is that only 2 games have been shown in HD so far, and only the first one was in widescreen. If they are going to have 71 HD games, they'll have to start showing them at some point. I know none of the games through Friday are in HD either.

I like that lineup a lot, Duke. Dunn does very, very well in the two-hole (probably his best spot in the order), and I do want to see a more of Hopper.

Can we throw Harang on 0 days rest, even for 1 inning or so?
Z historically ends up losing to the Reds when the Harangatang starts opposite him.
That said, Ryan Dumpster historically stinks....

Per Fay:
Lineup, Dusty on moving Dunn
The wind was howling out. Now, it's blowing hard toward left field.
Corey Patterson cf Jeff Keppinger ss Ken Griffey Jr. rf Brandon Phillips 2b Adam Dunn lf Edwin Encarnacion 3b Joey Votto 1b Javy Valentin c Josh Fogg p
I asked Dusty Baker if he considered moving Dunn somewhere else in the lineup, given that Dunn is walking so much and hitting so little:
"Well, it's kind of two-fold. A lot of the walks he gets he gets that one pitch to hit. Sometimes he takes it. Most of the time he's been fouling it off. Pitchers aren't going to come at him, come at him, come at him. I told him the other day: Hey man, you're fouling a lot of balls off. You're fouling them straight back, which means you're on them but underneath them. With our situation here, it's not that easy to flip flop that lineup. We'd too many lefties in a row. A lot of it falls in Eddie (Encarnacion). As Eddie goes, we're going to go. Eddie has a lot of chances. I'll try to stick with this for a while. Hopefully, some of the guys come out of it. As far as protection, Hank Aaron used to tell me I was his protection. He told me to get some doubles and singles and that'll stop them from walking him. I had (Keppinger) batting behind (Dunn) a couple of days. He's our hottest hitter right now. He's a prototypical second hitter."
Baker says he constantly considering different lineups.
"My wife gets on me for turning on the light in the middle of the night. I'm a note taker. I learned to write with a flashlight."

We own Zambrano. Over the past 3 years, his ERA is close to 5 against the Reds including 13 homers in 84 innings.
I'm going to say we chase him after 3.1 innings and win the game 11-6.

I must say I'm not very optimistic in any game where Fogg is starting.
That being said, I think we rattle Zambrano and outscore them. Reds win 10-8

Fogg actually has an identical ERA to Zambrano over the past 3 yrs in this game...4.89.
Without Soriano, I'm going to say that Fogg goes 6 innings and gives up 4 runs...2 off a D-Lee homer and 2 off of an A-Ram homer.
