I'm not sure why Votto is getting more at bats, Hatte just hasnt looked good at the plate this season. He usually goes with those pitches for a base hit

Well, that is probably it for Hamels, he well over 100 pitches now so hopefully the Reds can touch up the pen in the 8th and 9th. 3 runs is by no means insurmountable.

I'd like to see griff in for one of hopper or freel. assuming our bullpen can keep this within 3, which is no gaurantee lol this is certainly possible. Save the over for us boys!

Just looked, that was a 7 pitch inning for Hamels so he is only at 100, so there is a possibility that he could be back, albeit, I hope not. Hopefully Coffey shows us something liek 2006 here.

Thank god.
Phillips, Dunn, Kepp coming up. Sub Griffey for Hopper is something gets going, if not then keep Hopper in to lead off the 9th. Now is the time to get somethign started.
Solid inning by Coffey, nothing hit hard. Keep it up.

well that was a huge waste, phillips swinging for the fences, dunn with another K, yet to hit a ball into play today and kepp with the one pitch fly out. wonderful

Arroyo gets lazy with his pitches and it proves to be true today. Arroyo seems to just go through the motions. Where's the fire? It seems like Arroyo doesn't care of maybe that's just the way he carries himself. I would like to see Arroyo pitch like he has a purpose. He's not a power pitcher so he has to locate his pitches but it seems like he doesn't put much effort into his pitching performances in order to get guys out. So he will continue to struggle until he shows some energy on the mound instead of just showing up. I look for Arroyo to be better on the road this year if he stays in the rotation. Arroyo looks like a weak spot with Fogg.

ugh soooo frustrating, hopper takes the first pitch right down the middle of the plate and swings at the next one in the dirt for the ground out. 2 quick outs with bako up

you gotta take the damn bat off your shoulder to make contact Valentin! with the game on the line and runners in scoring position, you have to swing at everything thats close. i was hoping baker would put Votto in there, oh well.

Sucks about the outcome, but one positive is that the pen was money for 31/3 innings.
