Arroyo is a fringe 3 more like a 4 IMO.....He eats alot of innings I like that but I am telling you in tme we need to think about moving him. If Homer gets it together we should think about it.

Chalk this one up as a loss.
That's ok, just continues the lose one, win two trend.

But in that case, is it your opinion that we should shop Arroyo instead of Fogg/Belisle? I can see that from a financial aspect, but if we want the best possible team, even if all of the young guys excel I think this should be the roto coming into 2009... 1. Harang 2. Cueto "el fuego" 3. Bailey/VolKz 4. Bailey/VolKz 5. Arroyo This would be the best roto by far in the NL. Sub in Belisle or Fogg for Arroyo and it's still damn good, but you drop a step.

The ball must be carrying a little better today. A little more heat out there....maybe we have a shot to touch up Hamels a bit.....
Castro's actually working him.....wow. Nice walk there.

I could see keeping Arroyo as the 5th starterbut I trade him this offseason and make Belisle the 5th starter. People will overpay for Arroyo still IMO

Alright, we're hitting Hamels up a bit and making him throw a long hard inning in inning 1, we're still in this one!

He isn't that cheap anymore, either, with his 4 yr deal.

25 pitches by Hamels in teh 1st, now if we can just make him do that 3 more times Hopefully Arroyo settles down and go 6 strong.

His deal will be up after the 2009 season so after this year he is in the last year of his deal. The last year 2010 is a club option.

IMO, Hamels showed a little bit of why he isn't the BEST pitcher in the NL....yet. He dinked around Castro and walked him instead of going right after his wimpy ass. Without that, he probably throws 7 fewer pitches and 1 less run scores.

Right, but it's not like he's cheap, which makes him way more of a commodity. It also increases the competition because you'd get small market teams in the hunt in on the bidding as well.

Thank God for Cueto going deep in the game....since then our bullpen has been getting worn down, and with Bronson throwing so many pitches we'll probably be going to them again pretty early.
Hopefully Bronson can make it at least 6.

Not a pretty 2nd for Arroyo, but at least he got out of it without giving up any runs. Hamels with a hit? Cmon...
