I would be curious to see how Senzel's plate appearances are when he plays 3B versus the rest of the field. He looks so comfortable at 3B, and even won a minor league gold glove at 3B. I would agree that he is a touch and go guy, because you never know when he is going to get hurt. However, if you can manage this lineup and get everyone in the field that you want on a regular basis, is giving Senzel one last shot worth it considering his potential? Maybe the rest of the team around him helps him elevate his game too. If not, you trade or cut him loose. I do think it was a mistake to move him off the dirt. I do think a position change can impact offensive production. But, does it drag down an offensive performance level to the extent needed to explain Senzel's struggles? That feels like an extreme longshot to me. Nobody's rooted for Senzel to succeed harder than me - he's from my hometown (Knoxville) and went to my alma maters (Farragut High, the University of Tennessee). And pretty much all "smart" baseball people thought he was a no-brainer safe pick, a guaranteed impact bat with light tower power. It just hasn't panned out that way. Maybe a change of scenery will do him some good, but if we're in position to make a deal for some starting pitching help for a playoff run (I can't believe I'm typing this, but this is where we are now, I guess), I'd absolutely dangle him as trade bait, especially if he continues to hit reasonably well this year.

some team would be smart to trade us a nice arm for india and get senzel as a thrown in. let another team try to get some value from him. Seriously there are a ton of India quality players out there. pitching, not so much

That is why the Bengals are improving are guys being drafted that are their college teams captains. Leaders that hold each other accountable.
