Our scouting department really did their due diligence looking into his character. At least he didn't throw a bong at his mother's head in a video like Tanner Rahier would do. C'mon, it was fifth round pick. You can roll the dice anytime after round three for a talented kid. Maybe he'll pull his head out of his rectum and put his life back together, but it's hard to fault the scouts for gambling.

Any time you hand out large bonuses you've got to do your due diligence. I don't blame scouts, I blame higher-ups.

Any time you hand out large bonuses you've got to do your due diligence. I don't blame scouts, I blame higher-ups. In baseball terms 300,000 is like 100 dollars to the rest of us.
