5 innings 5 hits 1 bb 4 K's 2 runs
Only 60 pitches in 5 innings 39 for strike
Homer has only had like 2 runs scored for him in 3 starts so far....lol They scored in the 5th on a single a balk and 2 flyball outs. Homer got his feet tangled up they said and fell off the mound...lol
They are not hitting him hard at all.

I really wonder if his stuff is so good that it allows him dominate without really improving. Or, if he's actually down there improving his command and control.

Well his control was not great last year in AAA as he got his pitch count up alot so I think he is improving. One reason I was all for him making the rotation is if he struggles with the Reds at least he is learning.
Lets hope is is learning now though.

6 innings 5 hits 1 bb 4 K's 2 runs 75 pitches 50 for strike !
He is using the changeup alot and the fastball is being spotted down in the zone. A great sign !
He should get 1 more inning but its only a 7 inning game because of double header so maybe not.

6.1 innings 5 hits 1 bb 2 earned runs 81 pitches 54 strikes.
Bailey left the mound being replaced by Bray and they said he did not look happy with being taken out ! I kinda like that tells me he wanted to finish this thing. With a lefty coming up in the bottom of the last inning I understand though.
Kinda
Solid outing by Bailey. Fastball is back after starting the year in low 90's he hit 96 mph in the last inning tonight.

Do you think he would benefit even more from learning from Soto, the way Cueto did? Or do you think we're already seeing him benefiting from it?
How long does he keep this up before he gets called up? We have pretty solid pitching at the major league level right now, but maybe they look to shop Arroyo around and bring up Homer if he keeps it up?

Bray dominates the last 2 hitters ...He needs to replace Coffey. His fastball is hitting 93 mph from the left side !
Bray strikes out both hitters to end game !
Bailey gets the win and Bray gets the save!

I let Belisle take over for Fogg and keep Bailey down untill later in the year. If we fall out of the race look to trade Arroyo and then bring Bailey up.

At this point, I don't want to see Homer in Cincy until September. Let him sit down there all year refining his stuff. Next time he gets to Cincy, I want to see the dominant pitcher that we've been expecting.

We shall see what happens. Aty some point I will be ok with watching him struggle with the Reds as you learn that way as well. So far he has shown better command
