CBS Sports' Jon Heyman reports that Johnny Cueto "is at least on (the Astros') radar."
Advice: It's possible they could ultimately shoot a little lower (Heyman says that they're also considering Aaron Harang), but it sounds like there's a good chance the Astros will add a starter before the deadline. One executive noted that potential trade talks between the Astros and Reds could get interesting given the icy relationship Houston general manager Jeff Luhnow and Cincinnati GM Walt Jocketty had when together in St. Louis. Cueto is currently dealing with an elbow issue, but he was cleared of structural damage and is expected to rejoin the rotation Sunday.
Let's just go Cueto straight up for Carlos Correa and that will be good enough I suppose. haha
We can even throw in Cozart and Bruce for good measure. *wink*

No chance Correa goes anywhere, though I know you know that.
Appel and two others is likely the best the Reds could hope for.
Something like Appel, Max Stassi, and Preston Tucker

Cueto is damaged goods until he proves otherwise.

I think Appel right now is close to that the other two are in the 15-20 range of the Astros prospect list.

Although it's too early to rule out the Astros in the Cueto sweepstakes personally I'd be a pretty surprised if they became the final destination. I guess I feel like other teams (especially in the AL East) will need Cueto more, and perhaps better match up with what the Reds want. Yeah, Correa definitely isn't being traded. I would be shocked if Appel was traded for a rental. I'd also be surprised to see the Reds acquire a Scott Boras client as controversial as Appel (I remember rooting for nobody to draft him after he refused to sign). He's good enough that I'd be thrilled to see the Reds acquire him, but I'd also be surprised for many many reasons. 3b Colin Moran (22, AA), OF Preston Tucker (24, MLB) would be interesting candidates, as would RHSP Michael Feliz (22, AA) and RHSP Lance McCullers, 21, who recently made his MLB debut. After writing this I found climbingtalshill.com/2015/05/27/houston-astros-lets-make-a-trade-with-the-cincinnati-reds/ .... it's a speculative article written by an Astros fan about acquiring Mike Leake. He proposes RHSP Michael Feliz and an OF, either Teoscar Hernandez (22, AA, strikes out too much), Domingo Santana (22, AA), or Brett Phillips (20, A+). Feliz is a bit of a project. It also links to a Cueto-Chapman to Astros trade proposal which is too nonsensical to mention, as it includes Colby Rasmus. Oh well.

Cueto is damaged goods until he proves otherwise. He can prove otherwise by starting Sunday and pitching well, well before major trades typically start to happen. EDIT: Cueto has been scratched from Sunday's start, as a reward to disgruntled fans Jason Marquis has been moved to the bullpen with Lorenzen making Sunday's start.

Who does Houston have in there system that they might trade for Cueto a hitter who don't strike out a ton? There whole lineup sans Altuve are strikeout machines. Just wondering about there minor league guys. No way they trade Correra for Cueto so any other who make contact?

Cueto for Correa or bust. I don't want that over hyped trash Mark Appel or "no names". That is what will likely happen though.

Remember when they were the AAAstros and we used to beat up on them? Those were the days.
Now they're in a position to acquire an ace SP and we're in a position to deal our ace SP.
Life, man.
