With so many lower level guys still in extended spring. Do u think daytons roster will stay pretty stable minus injurys? Most of the guys in extended spring training are hurt themselves, as they get healthy and guys on current rosters get injured they'll continue to be assigned. Most of the ones who are left would go to Dayton or Daytona once healthy. Jose Cisnero and Lou Marson (technically on Billings reserve list) are the lone players who would likely start above high A once healthy. So if your asking me if guys from Dayton will be promoted in case of higher level injuries, yes - that will likely happen. Especially when it comes to the bullpen and rotation (Ehret and Hunter and Strahan and Varner could easily be in high A right now - these guys are experienced D-1 college kids - and for the most part were brought in to fill-in where needed). The DSL rosters will be officially set in 3-4 weeks (a few dozen of last year's unassigned international signees will be assigned to DSL Reds & DSL Rojos), and the AZL and RK rosters will be officially set 3 weeks after that (right after the draft).

Assigned to A Dayton from AZL Reds: 1B Paul Kronenfeld
---The Reds drafted Kronenfeld in the 25th round of last year's draft out of Catawba College in North Carolina, he turns 24 this September. Org Filler...
Placed on A Dayton's 7 Day DL: 1B Avain Rachal
---Rachal has an abdominal strain, this is his first season as a fulltime 1Bman after being converted from 2nd/3rd base...he has a good eye for the strikezone but still can't hit - .234 career hitter in 700+ plate appearances.

Released: RHSP Daniel Cabrera
---Cabrera made one start for the Bats on April 30th - 3 IP / 2 H / 4 BB / 1 K / 1 ER. Axelrod, Holmberg, Iglesias, Magill, and Moscot will hold down the rotation, don't be surprised to see Keyvius Sampson and/or Josh Smith reassigned to Louisville soon.
Promoted to AAA Louisville from AA Pensacola: RHRP Ben Klimesh
---Ben will take Cabrera's 25 man roster spot with Louisville. The Reds drafted Klimesh in the 15th round of the 2012 draft, he's pitched very well in 9 games at AA this year.
Promoted to AA Pensacola from A+ Daytona: RHRP Zack Weiss
---Zack will take Klimesh's 25 man roster spot with Pensacola. The Reds drafted Weiss in the 6th round of the 2013 draft, he's been dominant in 9 games at A+ this year (3 baserunners allowed in 11 2/3 IP, 22 K's, 5 SV's - 5 SV/OP's).
Assigned to A+ Daytona from Extended Spring Training: LHRP/SP Nick Routt
---Nick will take Weiss's 25 man roster spot with Daytona. The Reds drafted Routt in the 16th round of the 2012 draft, he's yet to play this year after missing most of last season due to Tommy John Surgery (only 3 games).

Promoted to AAA Louisville from AA Pensacola: C Chris Berset
---The Reds want Ramon Cabrera and Kyle Skipworth starting regularly, this move allows them to do so - Berset becomes the AAA backup.
Demoted to AA Pensacola from AAA Louisville: C Kyle Skipworth
---Though he wasn't hitting at AAA, this isn't a straight-up demotion...the Reds wanted both of their AAA starters starting regularly - this allows that to happen. Cam Maron becomes the AA backup.
These moves also allows each minor league SP'er to create a re pore with both catchers.

Placed on DSL Restricted List: RHSP Adolfi Telleria, RHP David Ayala
---David Ayala and Adolfi Telleria have been suspended 25 games each for violating baseball's minor league drug program. The reason for the Reds pitchers' suspensions was not given by the commissioner's office.
Telleria was signed by the Reds in November of 2012 out of the Dominican Republic & David Ayala was signed by the Reds in May of 2014 out of Colombia.
Placed on A+ Daytona 7 Day DL: IF Sammy Diaz
---Not a big miss here as Diaz is nothing more than bench filler at this point in his career.
Assigned to A+ Daytona from Extended Spring Training: OF/IF Junior Felix Arias
---Many pundits felt that Arias was a borderline protection candidate for the previous Rule 5 draft. It's a make or break year for him as he signed back in 2008, if he isn't added to the 40 man roster this winter he'll become a free agent. He'll take Diaz's roster spot and work into a 4 man outfield rotation of Elizalde, Ervin, Gelalich and himself.
Placed on AAA Louisville 7 Day DL: RHSP Matt Magill, OF Steve Selsky
---Magill becomes the 2nd player on the Reds 40 man reserve list that is done for the year - as he underwent Tommy John Surgery today, the other being Donald Lutz. Haven't heard Selsky's injury yet, I assume it's minor.
Reinstated from AAA Louisville 7 Day DL: IF Josh Satin
---Satin has been out since the 24th of April, he'll take Selsky's roster spot. The Bats will need to make another transaction soon to replace Magill - their active roster is at 24.

Signed via Free Agency and Assigned to AAA Louisville: OF Jose Costanza
---Louisville has been in need of outfield depth since losing Lutz for the year and then Selsky getting hurt earlier in the week. Costanza was released by the Braves last month, the 31 year old has seen action in 112 major league games over the past 4 seasons. In nearly 500 AAA games he's hit .303 - .358 - .352. He was originally signed by the Indians in 2003 as an international free agent out of the Dominican Republic.
Promoted to AAA Louisville from AA Pensacola: RHSP Josh Smith
---Smith has been on roster juggle time for about a month - finally back to where he started (and should be), he'll replace Daniel Cabrera/Matt Magill in Louisville's rotation
Activated from AA Pensacola 7 Day DL: C Yovan Gonzalez
---Yovan had been out since April 27th, he'll take Smith's roster spot and be the 3rd catcher for the moment (Skipworth & Maron).
Promoted to A+ Daytona from A Dayton: SS Wendell Soto
---The Daytona club was down to no true middle infield backups with Diaz going on the DL earlier in the week.
Demoted to A Dayton from A+ Daytona: OF Nick Benedetto
---Benedetto was needed in Dayton to replace Crook who went on the DL today and with the earlier assignment of Junior Arias there simply weren't enough AB's for him in A+ anyway.
Placed on A Dayton 7 Day DL: OF Narciso Crook
---Crook has a left hamstring strain, he was hitting .233 - .255 - .378 through 25 games.
Activated from A Dayton 7 Day DL: 1B Avain Rachal
---Rachal will split time with Kronenfeld at 1B for Dayton (the guy who replaced him when he went on the DL).

I'm seriously surprised at the Costanza signing. It's actually a good one. The type of guy that will add to a bad offensive team at Louisville and the perfect AAA fodder type guy. The kind that if injuries dictated the need you could juggle the 40 man roster to open a spot, get a week or two use out of him, then DFA/release him. Has had at least a bit of MLB experience.

Claimed off Waivers from Los Angeles Angels: RHRP Ryan Mattheus
---Mattheus was once a successful bullpen option for the Nationals, 3.60 ERA in 145 games. Mattheus was 0-2 with 2.84 ERA in 11 appearances this season for Triple-A Salt Lake. He made one big league appearance for the Angels, working a scoreless inning with one walk and two strikeouts. He signed with the Angels this past season on a minor league deal after being non-tendered by the Nats. He is one month shy of 3 years of service time so he'll be arbitration eligible at the end of the season if the Reds wish to retain him. He's been outrighted once before, so has the option to elect FA if the Reds go that route later.
Designated for Assignement: RHRP Kevin Gregg
---1.5 M$ disaster
Released: LHRP Warlin Pena
---He was signed by the Reds in July of 2012 out of the Dominican Republic.
Called Up from AAA Louisville: RHSP Raisel Iglesias
Optioned to AAA Louisivlle: RHRP Carlos Conteras

Reinstated from AAA Louisville 7 Day DL: OF Steve Selsky
---Selsky (will replace Smith) had been out since the 5th of May.
Placed on AA Pensacola 7 Day DL: RHRP Chad Rogers
---Chad has damaged his left knee, the one time member of the Reds 40 man roster had a 5.25 ERA in 10 games with the Wahoos prior to the injury.

---Blaine (will replace Rogers) had a 1.65 ERA in in 12 games.

This is anything but official but on the radio broadcast they said he'd be evaluated Wednesday, assuming he feels good the plan would be one more one inning outing.
