The Rays have announced that bench coach Dave Martinez will pursue other opportunities with another organization. Former Rays bench coach Dave Martinez, who left the organization after he was not selected as a finalist for their managerial opening, has joined the Cubs‘ coaching staff, reports Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times

It's December, not a lot of choices. I suppose he could go drink some booze and dynamite some fish with Dusty Baker and Adam Dunn - but I'm not sure his life insurance would pay out if one of them accidentally blew up the boat.

The Rays have officially announced Cash’s hiring as the fifth manager in franchise history Certainly an interesting choice. This hire is like trading for prospects. It may be a season or two(or three) before you can really give this one a grade.
