This feels like a massive player development failure by the Reds:
Reds released OF Ryan LaMarre. LaMarre cleared waivers after being designated for assignment, but the Reds decided to move on from him. The 25-year-old has hit just .200/.310/.300 over an injury-shortened season at Triple-A Louisville, but he can run and has been reasonably productive with the bat before. Someone will pick him up. Lots of tools, the defense is great, but I never liked his swing much. He changed 3 or 4 times in his time in the Reds system.

His swing at Michigan was twice as good as that "poor man's David Eckstein" thing he uses now. Whether the Reds were directing those changes or just stood pat while LaMarre made those changes on his own, it's a pure fail.

This saddens me. I'm on Lark's side.
