If somebody with no future gets called up I think it should be 25 year old Steve Selsky, who's gotten on base at a high rate in AA and AAA this year. The big criticism of Selsky is that he lacks homerun power, although he demonstrated some when he was in single A (28 in 607 ABs at Bakersfield), the same level at which 29 year old Marquez Smith is now putting together this big season.
Marquez Smith is no Corky Miller, who deserves to be called up for contributions to the organization.
