^60% of his starts this year have been at 1B. He played 3 years at a D-1 powerhouse, he's too old and experienced for the league he's in. In those 3 years with Arizona he hit just 2 homeruns. I'd be surprised if he ever develops the power necessary to stick at a corner infield position in the bigs. Until we see him against older competition, it's hard to tell what we have with him. Just telling you what I saw. I agree he is too old for the level, but don't let the prior power numbers make you think he doesn't have raw power. The guy has plenty of it, his swing is what has prevented it in the past. He's played 1B out of necessity, both having no one to really play there and getting Rahier reps. I saw him play at 3B back in May and he looked great there. Good arm, accurate throws, good range. I mostly agree with what you are saying in that we don't really know what we have until he climbs the ladder a bit, but I really like what I have seen when I saw him live. He didn't swing at bad pitches.

Zach Duke re-signed with the Reds on Monday night (minor league deal), he had opted out of his previous contract 2 weeks ago.
Released: RHP Daniel Tuttle, RHP Kyle Lotzkar
Designated for assignment: RHP Josh Ravin (claimed off waivers by MIL)
The league-wide strikeout-to-walk ratio of 2.51 reached an all-time high in 2013, thanks to a historic strikeout rate (19.9 percent of plate appearances) and the lowest walk rate (7.9 percent) since 1968, the Year of the Pitcher.
